Here is my shed project. Got the first wall up a month ago. Been working inside since, it's cold out there, I was waiting on some drywall mud to dry in the house, so I got bored and went out and got another wall up. Hopefully I can finish it soon. Was supposed to be done last fall, but I'm a busy man. :-)

Yes, I cut the boards 6" off of the ground. There will be a shed roof on the left side of the building. I am going to leave that side open below the floor to slide other stuff in. My boy has a kayak that should fit in there.

That's really a neat project. I like the under storage idea. Just curious though, do you guys have snake problems up there? If so, what types? We have a few copper heads around here, and they scare the hell out of me. When I was a kid, my cousin and I had a small row boat my grandfather had built us. One day we took it out for a spin, and found a small copperhead staying inside the pile of life vests we had stashed under the bow. Taught us a lesson real quick about snakes and leaving the boat near the shoreline.

We have copper heads, but mainly black snakes. Doesn't matter to me, i hate them all. Only good snake is a dead snake.

I've always been told that King Snakes, (black snake with white belly) will kill and eat a copperhead. I NEVER kill a King Snake because of that! They are pretty friendly also. My son used to catch them and keep them in an aquarium in his bedroom. Only problem was our cat liked to eat the darn things, so he would turn the cage over and let the snake out. We lost a couple in the house that way. Needless to say, my red headed wife was not too happy about that!

Yep, we have Copperheads in the area, but it seems some folks have more problems than others. Definitely not something I want around. I plan to put out several traps when things begin to warm up just to be safe.
I've heard the same thing about Black Snakes killing Copperheads, but dunno if it's fact/fiction. I have no problem with non-poisonous snakes hanging around, but one with fangs get's quickly eliminated if possible. Fortunately than has only happened on a couple occasions.
Shed is looking good wvufan !! Looking forward to more pictures as it progresses.

wvufan,
Yep, not the best conditions for workin' outside is it?? Unless you like to plow snow.
I measured 16"+ over here. We lost power the evening the storm hit on the 4th... might be several more days before its repaired.
This kinda weather makes for some quality family time. But you know the old saying about "Fish and Friends"... applies to family too!!

Boy, you guys got hammered with the snow! We only got 5-6 inches, but that was enough!! I like it for awhile, but too much is a pain. I've burnt about 6 cords of wood so far this year, and hope the cold is about over. I need to start milling again, but the mud is thick around here. I'll have to buy some gravel and spread it around the mill, then hope it holds. I'm thinking sawdust is a good mix with the mud, can't hurt to try....
